UNFOLDING

End of one week. Beginning of another. UNFOLDING.

Bruce Mau wrote in his latest book MC24 (A highly recommended read), “FIRST INSPIRE, Inspiration is the birthplace of massive change. Without inspiration, nothing moves.”

 MI>CO>MI>UK>IL>MA>IL>NY>MI.

Each move has required its own transition, however this latest move, this latest transition, has required incredible personal inspiration in both the transition and transformation.

Transition is the process of transformation.

To immerse yourself into transition and new chapters requires a juxtaposition of self that only can be felt through. A time of observation and yet subjective intuition and truth. Moments of intense strength, yet vulnerability to stay open to possibilities. A commitment to candor and grace, yet allowing for a little reckless abandonment. A testing of the water, and also diving right into the depths of soul. But, despite all that comes and goes until a level of some stability settles, the unfolding of new chapters requires patience.

Patience, despite its permanent positioning in virtues, has never been an inherit strength. Instead of constant movement, task lists, and places to go, I find myself sitting with my face to the sun or in front of candlelight having to trust the manifestations that are unfolding.

I am reminded that without patience, the greatest chapters and moments in life do not exist. Love, family, friendships, relationships, art, a good book, a great movie, a perfect bottle of wine, a great business, the list could go on. Where patience lies, so does stillness. Where stillness lies, so does presence, and where presence lies, so does the beauty of gratitude and bliss. When we lose our patience with the process, we lose our power in the process. Ultimately in having patience, permanence finds its way.

With that, the quote of the week: “I am going to be honest in my dedication, harmony, and openness . . .” Paz Levinson, Sommelier when she was introduced to the staff at Maison Pic in Southeast France (SHE is a Self-taught Sommelier that has won worldwide awards and is the best sommelier of the Americas)
