THE WILD WOMAN

End of one week. Beginning of another. THE WILD WOMAN.

A moment occurred this week. It was a moment many of us women have been anticipating for quite some time. This moment provided us a sigh of relief, a committed YES!, a fist pump  into the air with nobody watching, and an excitement that we have not had for some time. It was a moment that Kamala Harris was chosen as Biden’s VEEP.

Now, I am not one to post about politics on social media as politics are a personal belief. However, I am one to support the power of women and the power of our collective spirit and energy.

There are two critical components that female representation brings to the highest table in the country:

1)     The Wild Woman: The woman that breaks glass ceilings & knows her worth. The woman who gets rejected & keeps going. The woman who brings magic & medicine. The woman who cultivates. The woman who poetically leads. The woman who dares AND cares. The woman who brings wisdom, intuition, reclamation, & rhythm.

2)     The Yin-Yang: Different than masculine energy which is more stable, linear, & predictable, feminine energy is interconnected, circular, & creative. It is an energy that looks at society as a whole vs. compartmentalized. It is an energy that creates dynamic paths that did not exist previously. It is collaborative in its wake & values allowance with boundaries vs. forbidding with rigidness. This energy brings infinite possibilities & nurturing accountability.

Both feminine and masculine are necessary for balance, however we need an equilibrium of both to create a harmonious path & future. We cannot have one be an endangered species while the other thrives. When one is out of sync, our resilience is compromised. Independent of this election, whenever we promote women, we promote equality. The significance of this moment was historical and influential creating new courageous paths with endless possibilities.

With that, the quote(s) of the week:

“If you don’t go into the woods, nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin.” – Women Who Run With Wolves – Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D.

“I was raised to be an independent woman, not the victim of anything.” – Kamala Harris
